The Red Moon Macabre "Danse The Plague" is the tenth studio release and the first for 2024. I decided to resurrect some of my music ideas from the late Eighties and early Nineties for this recording.

"Midnight Pendulum" is about The Pit and The Pendulum by Edgar Allan Poe.

"Frau Perchta" the terrifying European legend of the Christmas Witch who rips open your guts and stuffs your belly with straw and stone.

"The Hecate Mask" is about Hecate and the three witches from Macbeth by William Shakespeare. I witnessed a really great live performance of Macbeth with the cast wearing masks and speaking with Elizabethan pronunciation decades ago.

"Candelabra" is an ode to all the femme fatales from classic horror movies wandering around in haunted mansions while holding a candelabra.

The title track "Danse the Plague" is tale of the danse macabre.
With mentions of the Greek Goddess Hekate and the Black Death. It was written in 1991 and is a Gothic Rock improvisation. I sing my original lyrics and a poem by Charles Baudelaire "The Vampire".
I recreate what I once recorded back then now long lost.

"The Haunted Palace" is a poem by Edgar Allan Poe recited with my original music.

"Death On The Horse" was created and inspired from a painting by Edgar Bundy "Death as general rides a horse on a battlefield" 1911.

"Ashes Absolution" is inspired by the painting "Death Of The Republic" by Horace Vernet. The lyrics are based from the Latin sequence "Dies Irae" The Day Of Wrath from the 13th century. Of course with my own macabre twist in words. I also dedicate this song to Jason Ledyard and his Gothic events named "Absolution" which started in New York City during the Nineties.

"Exquisite Corpse" is a song based on the poem Le Mort Joyeux by Charles Baudelaire. Thank you to Jason Ledyard for the idea of the song title and intro.

"Daughter Of The Passion" is a song based on the Italian mystic Gemma Galgani. A venerated saint who bore the Stigmata. Satan waged a great war against this bride of the blood passion till the very end of her life.

The final closing track "Raven Winter" is a song based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story The Raven.

This album is in honor to my Golden Years of Goth from the past and present. Hails and Thank You to all the fans of The Red Moon Macabre.
